Ripping DVD Video using Mac OS X 10.5.8
The Mac has always been a power-player in the field of graphics and video production. Powerful applications, when combined with a graceful interface, have made it a favorite amongst artists, editors and hobbyists alike.
Lifting a clip from a disk, or making a digital copy for ease of use and storage, is a hassle. Standard DVD formats are not web friendly. On Mac OS X 10.5.8 the tool to reach for is HandBrake. The problem is, it wasn’t there to reach for, victim to a crashed drive.
The beauty of open source and freeware is that the tools you need are readily available. A short web search yielded an installer. Within minutes I was ripping “Masters of Stone.”
